The Vale Park Hotel welcomes touring caravans to our small 24 pitch touring site. We have a well kept, secluded, pasture area in 3 acres of ground. With all the modern amenities caravanners expect, you can be assured of a great stay whilst pitching your home from home at our site.
Our pitches are the perfect location for you to experience our beautiful local Blue Flag beaches or heritage sites along with many scenic walks and Country pubs dotted around the Vale. Our staff can recommend some great hostelries, many CAMRA or Michelin guide rated, or simply visit The Vale Park Hotel Bar and enjoy a bar meal.
We are a family run hotel and touring site situated near Cardiff Aiport, Rhoose Barry Vale of Glamorgan. City breaks are fab. Beach hols are fab too. So it surely follows that combining a bit of both with a south Wales stay at The Vale Park Hotel and Touring Site must be doubly fab.
For your urban wanderings, it’s a 10-mile jaunt into Cardiff, where there’s heaps of stuff to keep you occupied for many a day on end: shops, museums, nightlife, the castle, rugby matches and the chance to chat with daleks at the Dr Who Experience should get you off to a good start. One city aspect you’ll not need to experience is the search for a parking space, for there’s a handy free shuttle bus that runs from the site to the city centre to save any such hassles.
Time to make a break for the beach? It’s a mere 10 minutes’ drive to get to Barry Island for days of sandcastle building, fish and chip scoffing and family-friendly hours at the amusement arcades or Barry Island Pleasure Beach. And if it’s more exotic beaches you had in mind, you’re only 10 minutes’ walk from Cardiff Airport should the mood take you to leap on a flight somewhere more far-flung.
Scoop up supermarket supplies while you’re in Barry and you’re welcome to stoke the coals of a barbecue back at base; if you’re more in the mood to eat out or sip cold beers in smart surrounds you’re equally welcome to join fellow guests at the hotel’s bar and dining room.
The beach at Barry Island is a smashing sandy stretch that’s fab for families, with its sheltered shallow waters, numerous cafés and amusements to play with; it also welcomes dogs in certain areas. If you’re looking for something a little different, head half an hour along the coast to Southerndown for surf schools, or to Ogmore-by-Sea to ride horses along the sand.
Cardiff’s a cracking city to visit, too – on top of a generous range of shops, restaurants and the like, the Welsh capital is also home to all manner of leisure facilities including an ice rink, go-kart track and whitewater rafting centre. If you’re after something a bit more cultural there are always shows to take in at the Wales Millennium Centre, and visits to Cardiff Castle and the excellent (and free) indoor/outdoor exhibits at St Fagans National Museum of History.
More? There are three golf courses within a 10-minute drive, a designer outlet village half an hour away and a bunch more castles to saunter around (Fonmon Castle, five minutes away, is always good for a foray).
- Pitches start from £25.00 but vary in price depending on times of year & events.
- We have hard stand pitches & grass pitches available.
- All pitches have a electric hook up and there is a shower block on site.
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times when outside on the grounds.
